Basiru Suso – The world alive
Grammy – Nominated Basiru Suso release “The World Alive” on Sublime Exile Recordings !
The World Alive is released on May 11/2009 and includes a great number of prominent guest appearances. The album is recorded in Denmark and mixed and produced by David Hennessy, Mikael Nordsø and Basiru Suso. All music is composed by Basiru Suso. Basiru Suso plays the Cora, which has been a part of the African music culture for more than 600 years, a 21 string body and neck instrument sounding similar to a harp. In the past the instrument was used for social cellebrations such as weddings and christenings. The Griot is the name of an African cora musician and storyteller and an important advisor for the kings and priests.
Pondus – Sandur
The Icelandic trio Pondus consisting drums, bass and guitars, play an absolute chanting minimalistic pop mixture with elements of dub and jazz.
Having played with such diverse artists as Kylie Minogue, Sigur Ros, Morten Harket and written songs to Marc Almond this is the debut release to Petur Hallgrimsson and his new trio. The music is instrumental, suggestive and without comparison. Call it film noir or “tubular bells” blended with some smooth dub bass and dreamy guitars. We call these tunes sublime exile recordings ! – The album is recorded in Reykjavik by Björk collaborator Valgeir Sigurdsson.
Fake – One, two, fake you
The extended play version by Fake includes both single successes “1.2.3.4″ and “i’m waiting for the man” and three additional never before released tracks. Fake is an anonymous American/Swedish duo. The remixed version is currently featured (throughout and beyond April 2008) on the highly acclaimed animoto.com !!!
The MeMeMe’s – Hey Julie
Episode One
In a Galaxy not that far far away……Cardiff, less than a light year ago in a toxic Nebula of a 24 hour BBQ, 2 stars collided thus creating the nuclear fusion of The MeMeMe’s, namely Richard Proctor and Mel Daley – collaboration of the millennium. After the explosion, Richard and Mel discovered that they were in possession of some Hyper Muso-Scientific powers. Mel learnt that she now possessed Helium-based song writing skills and Richard had obtained Hydrogen-Proficiency in arrangement and instrumentation. They set forth these skills in a string theory of acoustic gigs as well as invitations to perform at “SWN” festival 2008, support slots with Martin Carr (Brave Captain, Boo Radleys) and Rhys Ifans’ band The Peth. They have also been featured as Artist of the Week on BBC Radio.

Kira and the kindred spirits – Happiness saves lives
- “It’s the best voice I ever heard since Janis Joplin” – Tricky
- “Kira is the kind of rock diva that comes around once, maybe twice in a generation” – Globe & Mail | Canadian Music Week
“Happiness saves lives” is probably the strongest and most talked about debut album to this date. The album received massive attention as it hit the streets in the middle of the summer 2002 and Kira was proclaimed to be the greatest talent in decades coming out on the danish rock scene. – Due to the recent breakup (2007) Kira and the kindred spirits no longer exist as a band and Kira is currently signed to Chris Blackwell (the legendary founder of Island Records) and trip hop mastermind Tricky and their new label venture Brownpunk. Since their debut Kira and the kindred spirits released two more albums but none (due to not only us) to the heights of “Happiness saves lives”. The album was recorded in legendary Sauna Studios in the heart of Copenhagen and in a country house in the northern part of “Devil Island” and includes not only great music but truly loads of blood, sweat and tears too. You can actually hear it and Kira is truly one of the greatest voices in modern times ! – “Happiness saves lives” is the foundation and the first release on Sublime Exile Recordings.
